How
do I employ AAS in my Investment Decision Process?

Use AAS
What is the “AAS
Rating Score?”
The AAS Rating Score is the foundation of our analysis and
one of two components that sets AAS apart from other subscription-based
services. AAS utilizes a weighted Alpha
which is adjusted for price persistence and volatility using
proprietary formulas and software. Similar to normal alpha
rankings, equities with higher AAS Rating Scores are preferred
over lower scores.
How does AAS generate
its Buy Recommendations?
The equities in the AAS Report are sorted by the AAS Rating
Score. This score is derived from a proprietary ranking formula
focused on each equity or mutual funds time-weighted alpha
factor adjusted for price persistence and volatility. This
method seeks to identify those equities which are delivering
the highest adjusted returns within each group. After ranking,
a compound buy rule is then applied that takes into consideration
the short-term trend of the various equities as well as the
AAS Rating Score. The AAS Buy Recommendation is then subjected
to further confirmation by two independent technical analytics
which must support the decision to place the security on a
Buy status. If the AAS Rating Score is not confirmed by the
technical analysis, the AAS Buy Recommendation box on the
AAS Report is left blank.
What is the “Last
Buy without a Sell over the Last 60 Days?”
This is the most recent AAS Buy Recommendation date for a
security over the last 60 days without that same security
experiencing a subsequent sell signal. Due to the various
risk tolerances and investment objectives of our subscribers,
it’s impossible to write a sell formula that would be
applicable to everyone. As a result, AAS does not publish
sell recommendations. However, we can indicate in our analysis
the last time that there was an AAS Buy Recommendation without
a subsequent sell signal. This information combined with the
AAS Buy Frequency over the Last 60 Days can be used to determine
the strength of trend for the corresponding security.
When do I place a Buy
order for a stock or fund?
All AAS Buy Recommendations generated by AAS are intended
to be executed on the day that the report is published. A
stock or fund can have an AAS Buy Recommendation for several
days or weeks in a row. If you missed the initial AAS Buy
Recommendation but the security is still a recommended Buy,
then feel free to place the order.
What does it mean when
a stock or fund I purchased is no longer an AAS Recommended
Buy?
If you currently own a stock or fund that was an AAS Recommended
Buy but now is not, you can interpret that as a Hold signal.
Because it must pass through two independent technical analytics,
in addition to having an acceptable AAS Rating Score, very
rarely does a stock or fund have an AAS Buy Recommendation
consecutively over weeks and months. Even those securities
with the highest AAS Buy Frequency Over the Last 60 Days have
an occasional period when they don’t pass the analytics.
Don’t overreact. Keep a watchful eye on the fund or
stock as well as the Sell Limit Watch and determine for yourself
if the security is experiencing normal volatility or if it’s
time to sell. Remember, the decision to sell a security is
up the subscriber, AAS does not provide sell recommendations.
Why doesn’t AAS
provide Sell Recommendations?
Our subscribers all have different risk tolerances, so creating
a sell formula that is applicable to everyone is impossible.
However, we have included a column called Sell Limit Watch.
This value is updated along with the rest of the data and
is designed to be a helpful tool when deciding when to sell
a fund or security. If the current closing price of the security
falls below the Sell Limit Watch that is a very good indicator
that it’s time to sell. The sale
of a fund or security is up to the discretion of the subscriber.
Please do not assume that AAS will indicate when you should
sell.
Can I validate the analysis
provided by AAS?
We’re glad you asked! Of course you can validate our
analysis and we hope that you do. One of the reasons we’re
including an archive page is so that subscribers can view
past AAS analysis, select securities with high AAS Rating
Scores and AAS Buy Recommendations, and compare the securities’
price at that point with the price at another point in time.
Calculating past performance is up to the subscriber and their
formula of choice. To facilitate the validation of our analysis,
we’ve included a tool on the Research page enabling
subscribers to insert a symbol and view performance information
over various time periods. Also, please
remember that past performance is not a guarantee of future
results.

How and when do I receive
AAS analysis?
We have designed this website so that our subscribers can
log in and view AAS analysis at their leisure. Due to the
complexity and nature of the data we are analyzing, we will
strive to make the data viewable by 10:00 am EST each Tuesday
and Thursday that the New York Stock Exchange is open. This
gives us the time needed to verify our data and review the
analytics, and it gives the subscriber the time needed to
digest the data and make any decisions well before the closing
bell. Since the data used is from the previous business day,
any AAS Buy Recommendations should be executed on the day
that the report is generated.
Do I need any software
or programs to view the AAS Report?
Other than a computer and an internet connection, the only
software you will need is Adobe Reader 7.0. If you don’t
have this software, you can download it for free by clicking
here.
Why can’t I print
my AAS analysis?
In an effort to prevent unlawful distribution, we have decided
to secure the AAS analysis. You may, however, print sample
analysis and any archived reports we list on this website.
How do I cancel my AAS
subscription?
We hope that you wouldn’t, but if you are unhappy with
the service, you can cancel at any time. Simply contact AAS
and we’ll take care of that for you. Since you are charged
on a monthly basis, your subscription will remain active until
the next billing period. AAS does not refund any subscriptions
for any reasons.
